Cabo San Lucas

In early October, Mandy and Andrew spend a week in Cabo San Lucas. They landed on the trailing edge of a tropical storm that was passing north of Cabo and while it rained most of the night, the rest of the week was clear skies and hot humid weather.

They took a few tours, including zip-lining across a valley, which they really enjoyed. After spending a few hours hiking around and zipping back, Mandy was feeling brave and decided they should try bungee jumping, and managed to convince Andrew to do it. They both went through with it, and both say they wouldn't jump again. Andrew recalls the experience as pure terror from being strapped in until he set foot on solid ground again. Mandy's experience wasn't much better. They jumped from a gondola suspended over the valley, which on that day, was swinging quite a bit in the wind.

They had rented a car and spent some time driving to what should have been a beautiful beach for snorkeling, but when they arrived, they found the water to me much rougher than they had hoped. After their experience in Nuevo Vallarta, Mandy wasn't to anxious to be back in the ocean again.

The couple also took in an ATV tour where they spent some time on trails through the desert and racing along the beach. They also took a sailing tour one evening with a crew that had raced in the World Cup.

Other than that, the couple spent a lot of time at the pool and exploring the town of Cabo San Lucas. Andrew was happy to get to see Cabo Wabo, a restaurant/bar/nightclub owned by Sammy Hagar. He also picked up a bottle of Sammy's award winning Tequila, though he hasn't opened it yet. Perhaps he's saving it for a special occasion like the Rider's winning the western final.
